In the summer, Russell Square’s ‘The Café in the Gardens’ is a park side retreat, offering lunch items and all day breakfast. Here you can choose to sit outside and overlook the gardens whilst grabbing a bite to eat.
If you are looking for a quick lunch spot, The Brunswick Centre is just opposite Russell Square station and hosts a number of cheap, easy and healthy bites such as Leon, Tossed, Crussh and a massive Waitrose.
After something that’s healthy and won’t break the bank? The famous Hummus Bros are around the corner from Monticello House, offering a delicious and healthy lunch without the huge price tag.
On Thursdays there is a weekly farmers market around the corner at Bloomsbury Square. The market is London’s not so best kept secret destination for a hot lunch on Thursdays, from doughnuts to all things Italian, pasta and pizza. All ingredients used at the stalls are either locally sourced from farms, or contain sustainable ingredients.
As Monticello House is located in the educational heart of London, we are conveniently within walking distance to The British Museum, The Weiner Library and The Charles Dickens Museum.
Bloomsbury is also home to our Art Deco Library, Senate House. It is a Grade II building and was one of the first sky scrapers in London.
If it’s a sunny day on your visit why not take a stroll through Russell Square gardens, located just outside of Monticello House, offering a quiet retreat in busy Central London.
Spend your spare time exploring the surrounding areas! There are excellent links to neighbouring areas such as Oxford Street, Holborn and Soho.
Take advantage of the best shopping street in London by walking 10 minutes down the road to the hustle and bustle of Oxford Street where you will find and array of your favourite shops, including the famous flagship store, Selfridges & Co.
